Thank you for your interest in the Mansfield Home Childcare
Association. The association was started in 2005 with the sudden growth in
Mansfield, Texas and the need for Home Childcare Providers. The association’s main
purpose is to increase the quality of care children receive by offering
provider’s valuable training & support. The Association meets every month to
exchange ideas, receive required annual training & meet fellow providers.
Through this network of providers, we support one another and exchange ideas to
enrich the children’s lives that we care for every week.
MHCA offers a variety of training topics to providers, including child growth &
development, SIDS/Shaken Baby Syndrome, early brain development, tax & record
keeping trainings. Members will receive a training certificate verifying 1.5
hours of training for each meeting attended.
The association requires that members provide us with a current copy of their
CPR/First Aide training certificates, as well as a current copy of their
Registration Certificate & proof of payment of the yearly renewal fee. These requirements
insure that parents are being referred to providers that meet at least the
minimum standards set by the state Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services
(DFPS). who are registered, licensed or listed.
The Association also offers a mentoring program to providers that are just
starting their home childcare business. New providers can benefit from this
program by having an experienced provider share her insights into this
